So, for the first time in years, I went looking for some new Meanderable Trails. I met with a dismal failure amongst "No Parking" signs and "Park Closes Promptly At Dusk" placcards. Still, it was good to get out there and explore. I'd like to invite anyone else interested in doing Meander trail research to let me know, so as to join the Unreasonably Short Advance-Notice Exploration Group and Trail Validation Committee. When the weather is good, and schedules allow, I'll send an email to this group, and we can go off to do daylight recon for other possible trails. These hikes will usually be weekend hikes, and I'll probably only schedule them a day or two in advance, so I think phone numbers or email would be the preferred means of contact. As part of this effort, I'll also be gathering information to better document the Traditional Meander hikes, and I'll update the web site with hike information. Eventually, this will enable me to plan Meander Destinations long in advance, so I can include that detail on the invites, for those who prefer to meet up with the group at the trailhead. As always, I welcome suggestions or feedback on plans. Phone in comments to 310.210.3347, meil 'em to the postal address skillfully concealed elsewhere on this page, or email 'em to samuelg@themeander.org |
I sent the Meanderers off on a journey, while I stayed at home. Later, they returned and we sat around the fire. |
